In partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and Scoff Restaurant, Fogo Island Pride has secured a grant to provide fresh, ready to make recipes for families on Fogo Island! Providing easy, step-by-step videos, Scoff Restaurant will help you and your family prepare food the whole family can enjoy.
What is it? Designed to enhance localized food preparation skills, food knowledge and confidence in the kitchen, the Food Fresh Project will begin in November of 2020. Over the course of four weeks, families will be provided with the ingredients, instructions and equipment (if needed) to prepare and enjoy six (6) recipes at home - all for free! How does it work? Recipe kits will be available for pickup each Thursday from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Step-by-step videos will be released on the same day and remain online (FIP YouTube Channel). Each family will receive two recipe kits - one to prepare as they follow along to the video and another to prepare independently. Further information on program details will be distributed to eligible families on November 1st, 2020. How can I participate? Use the form below, (registration is required) to apply for this great project! Limited space is available and registration does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Applications will be accepted up to and including October 30th, 2020. Once an application is received, a member of Fogo Island Pride may contact you (or the nominee) directly for additional information. All information collected by Fogo Island Pride will remain confidential and secure, and will only be used to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of this program. Who can participate? While preference will be given to vulnerable families (low income, fixed income, families with young children, etc.) anyone who resides on Fogo Island can apply!
